Art, Music & Community Inspired by The Island of Missing Trees

February 28 @ 6:30 pm10:00 pm

Step away from the stresses of life and immerse yourself in an evening where music, art, and literature unite! The Atlanta Bushwick Bookclub and Snug Concerts invite you to a celebration inspired by The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak.  Join us for an unforgettable night as we bring The Island of Missing Trees to life through music, poetry, storytelling, and art! Our incredible lineup features longtime favorites like Kristina Jones, Ramsay McWhirter, and Charles B. Collins, Jr., alongside first-time Atlanta Bushwick Book Club performers Betsy Garmon and Jonathan Pierce. With soulful vocals, mesmerizing poetry, and stunning visual artistry, each performance is a unique interpretation of Elif Shafak’s powerful novel.

Adding to the magic, Cooking Maya will delight our senses with her incredible culinary creations, while Jayme Alilaw’s operatic brilliance and Caryn Lee Carter’s heartfelt country melodies bring new dimensions to the evening. Eldon Smith’s masterful storytelling will weave the night together, creating an immersive experience that blends literature and performance in a way only Atlanta Bushwick Book Club can.

  • When: Friday, February 28th,  7-10pm (doors open at 6:30pm)
  • Where: Haugabrooks Art Gallery in the historic Sweet Auburn District (364 Auburn Avenue, NE)

Whether you’ve read the book or not, this night of creativity and community will leave a lasting impression. Join us and be part of something unforgettable!
